Here birdy...

Today marked week 3 of volunteering with Project Get Outdoors. for those not familiar with the organization, it is a county-wide group designed as an after-school program to help kids have fun outside in nature instead of sitting in front of the computer or playing video games after school. Now, I have never been a huge fan of kids (depending on the age), but it's been a lot of fun so far. Despite the cooler temp and wind, we still spent the afternoon outside in the sunshine. Today we took the kids birding. In case we didn't see any live birds, there were 8 pictures of diff birds pinned to several diff trees around the school. Each kid got a pair of binoculars to go bird hunting and guess the species in the pictures. We also did some bird hunting for live birds and found: robins, mallards, geese, a crow, and a morning dove. It was a lot of fun. Another week of success with the little kids :)
